GHOST Protein Drink Set to Return in Nostalgic Yoo-Hoo Chocolate Flavor

Yoo-Hoo Collaboration Ushers in a New Era for the GHOST Protein Drink

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen GHOST operate in the ready-to-drink protein space.

Many scoops ago, the brand debuted a line of grab-and-go shakes in moreish flavors like Cereal Milk and Chips Ahoy!.

Those with a sharp memory will recall it wasn’t too long after the now-legendary GHOST Energy made its debut in 2020.

However, while one went on to dominate its category and become a core pillar of the brand, the other dwindled and was eventually discontinued – despite boasting an impressive taste.

Fast forward to the present day, and GHOST is taking a fresh swing with the launch of a canned protein beverage.

To welcome the GHOST Protein Drink back into the fold, the lifestyle brand has dialed up the nostalgia factor and partnered with an iconic treat many Americans will remember fondly.

Teasing a second coming on X, GHOST posted a picture of a hand clutching a bright yellow can embellished with the Yoo-Hoo logo.

Complete with melting chocolate around the rim, it almost perfectly recreates the cartons of chocolate-flavored milk that filled lunchboxes in years past.

While the taste takes you on a trip down memory lane, the macros have been significantly aged up. Each 11oz can of the new-look GHOST Protein Drink delivers an impressive 25g of protein for just 110 calories.

We haven’t been given a full glimpse of the label just yet, but the protein-to-calorie ratio suggests sugar and carbs will be kept to a minimum.

Fresh Collabs Ahoy!

GHOST has long been known for bringing iconic flavors to both the sports nutrition and energy drink markets.

However, it was recently forced to wave goodbye to some fan favorites across its roster when a licensing agreement with Mondelez International came to an unfortunate end.

Those impacted included Sour Patch Kids, OREO, Swedish Fish, Nutter Butter, and Chips Ahoy!.

The breakdown in the relationship was sparked by Keurig Dr Pepper acquiring a controlling stake in GHOST for $1.65 billion.

As the old saying goes: when one door closes, another opens. Yoo-Hoo is just one of many brands under Keurig Dr Pepper’s sizable umbrella, and through the inbound GHOST Protein Drink, we’re set to get a taste of what’s to come.

It’s also worth mentioning that chocolate might not be the full extent of this crossover; we could see more flavors unveiled as the GHOST Protein Drink makes its long-awaited return.
