Prime Video’s reboot of the iconic American Gladiators is less than a week away – and one name on the roster is already turning heads.
Meet Dani Means – aka ‘Voltage’ – the IFBB Pro bodybuilder, World Champion powerlifter, and gym owner who might just be the most decorated athlete in the entire line-up.
1) Voltage is a World Champion Powerlifter
Voltage has competed at the highest level in powerlifting, earning a World Championship title, while simultaneously building a career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder – one of the most elite tiers in competitive physique sport.
Oh, and she also competed in Strongwoman events for good measure.
It’s a combination that will no doubt make her one of the most formidable Gladiators in the arena.
2) She Played Rugby for Hong Kong
As if three competitive sports weren’t enough, Dani ‘Voltage’ Means also played rugby for Hong Kong.
Her speed, strength, and background in a contact team sport will certainly stand her in good stead when it comes to the physical Gladiator battles ahead.
3) She Co-Owns a Gym and Coaches Athletes
Voltage isn’t just an incredible athlete – she coaches them, too.
She learned her trade at Ultimate Performance Los Angeles, one of the world’s most recognised personal training brands, where she worked as Gym Manager.
Means then co-founded Hybrid Gym LA – a private personal training and boxing facility – with her partner Jon Bond.
She now serves as Vice President, overseeing operations and trainer standards across the gym’s locations in both LA and Hong Kong.
Beyond the gym floor, Means runs her own online coaching programme called Strong & Lean, a 12-week plan built around her experience in strength, athleticism and physique. She is also a certified nutrition coach and PreScript L1 trainer.
American Gladiators premieres on 17 April on Prime Video.
