Following the huge success of BBC One’s UK revival, American Gladiators is back with a new generation of contenders stepping into the arena.
The iconic series returns to screens this April, with a familiar format at its core.
Launching as a Prime exclusive, American Gladiators keeps the same breakneck head-to-head structure, built around superhuman strength, speed, and endurance.
Classic challenges like Powerball, The Wall, Joust, and Hang Tough all feature, while a couple of new additions have been introduced to freshen things up.
Events like The Ring and Collision expand the obstacles contenders and Gladiators will have to overcome to prove their mettle.
There’s a natural overlap with the UK series, which has drawn in impressive viewing numbers since making its comeback in 2024.
Much like the original, some of the stage names from the UK reboot are repeated across the 16 new American Gladiators, split evenly between eight women and eight men.
Bosses have already teased a potential transatlantic battle between the two casts, in what would be a true clash of titans.

When is American Gladiators Released?
The first three episodes are scheduled to land on Friday, April 17, 2026, so there’s not long to wait now.
That’ll be followed by a second batch of three episodes on April 24, before the final four drop on May 1.
Incremental releases are becoming increasingly popular in the entertainment world, especially among streaming services.
While you can’t binge it in one go, the episodes are still relatively close together, keeping pace with the full-throttle nature of the show.
Where Can You Stream American Gladiators?
The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video for UK viewers.
Membership starts at £8.99, though fans can sign up for a free 30-day trial if they haven’t already got an account.
That gives you enough time to enjoy the entirety of American Gladiators when it drops.
Who Are the American Gladiators?
Recruiting fitness stars like Matt Morsia, known online as MattDoesFitness, was one of the many smart decisions by TV bosses to help make the UK version a Saturday night smash.
Across the pond, bigwigs have gone in a similar direction, filling the cast with familiar faces who each bring their own respective audience.
Ex-professional wrestler Eric Bugenhagen stars as ‘The Bull’, CrossFit athlete and Titan Games winner Dani Speegle appears as ‘Crush’, while All Elite Wrestling’s Michael Wardlow brings the muscle and theatrics as ‘Fang’.
Who Hosts the Series?
The cast is very wrestling-heavy, as WWE’s Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin leads the show as host. He’s joined by Rocsi Diaz on the sidelines and Chris Rose handling blow-by-blow commentary.
