Sydney Hunter has been competing since she was ten years old.
Now aged 29, the Sacramento-born athlete arrives on American Gladiators as ‘Huntress’ – and she’ll be bringing power, strength, and lots of speed to the arena.
1) She Was a Collegiate Track Star
Huntress started running at the age of 10, and went on to specialise in the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay.
Known in high school as “Sydney the Track Star”, she earned a Division I scholarship to the University of California, Riverside.
She went on to compete at a collegiate level for three years before stepping away from the sport to focus on building a career as a personal trainer.
2) She’s an Elite Powerlifter
After leaving the running track behind, Hunter transitioned into the weight room and began competing in powerlifting in 2019.
Plying her trade in the 63kg weight class, her personal bests currently stand at a 175kg squat, 82.5kg bench press, and a 501.5lb deadlift.

She has won multiple national titles along the way, including the 2021 USPA Drug-Tested National Championships and the 2025 AMP Classic Open Nationals.
3) She Has Three Powerful Mantras
The Huntress is a big believer in the power of positivity and has three mantras that she repeats to herself before and after every lift.
Before she touches the bar, she tells herself, “It’s time to show up” and“I am strong; I am powerful; I am confident.“
Then, when she’s nailed the lift, she says, “Easy money!”
