‘That’s All You Got?’: Cameron McEvoy Reacts As Kristian Gkolomeev Sets Unofficial World Record at Enhanced Games

Australian swimmer Cameron McEvoy has had his say on Kristian Gkolomeev’s unofficial 50m freestyle record at the Enhanced Games – and it’s not particularly complimentary.

The Aussie – who only set the 50m freestyle world record in March with a time of 20.88 – watched on as Greek athlete Gkolomeev clocked 20.81 in Las Vegas on Monday to beat it.

McEvoy responded by posting a meme of an angry Gordon Ramsay with the caption: “Seriously?! That’s all you got!”

Why is McEvoy Unimpressed with Kristian Gkolomeev’s Time?

Kristian Gkolomeev was competing at the controversial Enhanced Games, which allowed the use of performance-enhancing drugs under medical supervision. He was also wearing a synthetic “supersuit” – a super-sleek all-in-one which was banned several years ago.

You might expect, then, that he’d break McEvoy’s record by more than 0.07 seconds – but that was all he managed to scrape off the world-best time. Which, presumably, was the sentiment behind the social media post.

Is Kristian Gkolomeev Now the World Record Holder?

WADA doesn’t recognise performances achieved outside of clean competition, meaning McEvoy’s 20.88 remains the official world record.

Gkolomeev still walked away with $1 million in world record bonus money on top of $250,000 for winning the race. “It’s going to change my life for the good for sure,” he said afterwards.
