PureGym Urban Exchange Reopens After Major Upgrade

PureGym Urban Exchange is back open and seriously upgraded.

PureGym Urban Exchange has officially reopened its doors after a major upgrade, and the changes are looking seriously impressive.

The refurb is part of PureGym’s wider investment into Greater Manchester, with other recent upgrades also completed at Market Street, Spinningfields, Cheetham Hill, and Salford.

But this transformation at PureGym Urban Exchange is one of the biggest yet, spanning a massive 26,000 sq ft and designed to deliver an even better training experience for members of all fitness levels.

PureGym shared the news that the site was back open with posts on Insta and LinkedIn. Their Instagram post kept things short and sweet, with a couple of photos of the ribbon-cutting and a caption that read:

✨ WE ARE OPEN! ✨

Thank you to our members for their continued support and patience during the refurbishment.

The Team are on hand and excited to welcome both regular and new members to the club and can’t wait to showcase our latest kit!

Over on LinkedIn though they kicked things up a gear with a fast-paced video that takes you through the revamped space. And let me tell you, it looks pretty impressive!

What’s New at PureGym Urban Exchange

So what have they actually done to the place? Well first of all, the upgraded PureGym Urban Exchange now includes a brand new women’s workout space. This dedicated area gives female members the option to train in a more private and comfortable environment, with equipment chosen to support a wide range of training styles.

There’s also the addition of a brand new Shape Zone. This is a beginner-friendly strength and sculpt zone that’s been specifically designed to build your confidence with this type of training. It’s a great option if you’re newer to lifting or want a space that feels a little less intimidating while still giving you the kit you need to work on your goals.

Other key improvements include a fully upgraded studio with fresh kit and accessories, a completely revamped functional area with a huge 10-bay lifting rig, a bigger and better free weights area, and upgraded fixed pin and cable machines.

Designed to Fit Around You

One of the biggest draws of PureGym Urban Exchange is that it’s open 24 hours a day. Whether you prefer to train early in the morning, late at night, or somewhere in between, the flexibility is there to make it work around your schedule. And with free parking available, it’s also easy and convenient to get to.

The gym continues to offer a strong line-up of free fitness classes, with over 50 sessions available every week as part of your membership. That includes high-energy workouts like circuits, boot camps, and fat burn, plus a wide mix of other options designed to keep things varied and engaging.

PureGym Urban Exchange Continues to Evolve

PureGym Urban Exchange is already one of the biggest gyms in Manchester, and this latest upgrade only strengthens its place in the city’s fitness scene.

The new additions, like the Shape Zone and a dedicated women’s area, show that the focus goes beyond equipment or size. It’s also about creating spaces where all kinds of members can feel confident and supported.

There’s also more to come. PureGym has teased that their first ever Relax & Recover space will be added soon, offering something completely new for members.

While they haven’t shared all the details yet, it’s clear they want to deliver more than a great workout. They’re creating a space where recovery and overall wellbeing are just as important.

Final Thoughts

The newly refurbished PureGym Urban Exchange offers a seriously upgraded experience for Manchester gym-goers. With fresh kit, new training zones, a huge 10-bay rig, and thoughtful features like the Shape Zone and women’s workout space, it’s been designed to help you feel comfortable, confident, and ready to train.

Open 24/7, packed with great-value features, and now boasting even more ways to work out, the new-look Urban Exchange is well worth a visit if you’re looking for a gym that keeps moving forward.
