Taste Testing fu:di’s High Protein Bread Rolls

We taste tested fu:di’s high protein bread rolls to see if they really bring bread back to the low-carb table.

Bread has been off the menu for far too long for those of us on keto, low-carb diets, or just trying to keep carb intake a bit lower.

And it’s not always the big meals you miss most. Sometimes it’s the simple stuff, like having a warm roll with soup, making an easy lunch, or grabbing something quick that actually feels satisfying.

But thanks to fu:di, we can finally enjoy bread again without completely throwing our goals out the window. Their high protein bread rolls give you that proper bread roll feel, but with 10.4g of protein, 5.4g of fibre, and only 5.4g of carbs per roll.

And if you fancy trying them for yourself, you can use our fu:di discount code GYMFLUENCERS15 for 15% off your order.

fu:di high protein bread rolls

fu:di’s high protein bread rolls are seeded, malty bread rolls that cost £4.95 for a pack of 4.

Each roll contains 10.4g of protein, 5.4g of fibre, and just 5.4g of carbs. That’s pretty impressive for a humble bread roll!

They’re also made with extra virgin olive oil, with no seed oils, so they’re an all-round healthier option.

You can eat them straight from the pack with your favourite filling, or warm them in the oven for 5 minutes if you want them hot and crusty.

The taste test

So let’s get into the taste test.

First up, I tried one warmed through in the oven to have with a good old bowl of soup.

After a few minutes in the oven, the outside was nice and crusty while the middle was still soft and a bit squidgy.

Spread with butter it was just perfect for dunking in the soup. The seeded texture gives it a bit more bite, and the malty flavour is really tasty.

It sounds a bit weird to say that it tastes like a bread roll, when it is in fact a bread roll, but anyone who’s tried low-carb alternatives before will know that it’s not a given that they’ll actually taste the way they’re supposed to!

I also tried one of the high protein bread rolls packed with chicken, mayo, and salad, and again, it held up really well.

It didn’t crumble, it didn’t feel dry, and it didn’t make the filling do all the work. The roll actually added something, which is always what you want.

It had enough flavour from the seeds, enough softness to feel satisfying, and enough structure to work as a proper lunch roll.

That’s the main thing for me. These high protein bread rolls don’t feel like something you’re forcing into your diet just because the numbers are good. They taste good enough to use because you actually enjoy them.

Why they work

The big plus with these high protein bread rolls, if you’re someone like me, is the macros.

You get 10.4g of protein and 5.4g of fibre in each roll, and just 5.4g of carbs.

So you’re getting something that helps you feel fuller for longer, especially compared with a standard bread roll.

But you’re not pushing your carb intake up the way you would with a standard bread roll.

Final thoughts

fu:di’s high protein bread rolls are a big win if you’ve been after a way to still enjoy bread without worrying about messing with your macro goals.

They taste good, they hold up well with fillings, and they’re even better warm with butter. The fact you get 10.4g of protein, 5.4g of fibre, and only 5.4g of carbs per roll just makes them even better.
