Speed from the track; power from the platform; and a strong physique built over years of elite competition: Lu Faustin has it all.
And she’ll be putting her seriously impressive physical attributes to the test in Prime Video’s reboot of the iconic American Gladiators.
Here are three facts you might not know about ‘Empire’.
1) She Ran Track and Field Competitively Throughout College
The daughter of Haitian parents, Empire began her love of sports as a teenager, experimenting with lifting her father’s weights in the basement of their Brooklyn home.
She went on to compete in track and field throughout college, before heading to Belgium to complete a Master’s degree in International Law. This decision would change the course of her life.
2) She Won Miss Fitness Belgium
It was while studying in Belgium that Empire was scouted at a gym by a local trainer. She was persuaded to enter her first-ever bodybuilding competition – Miss Fitness Belgium – which she went on to win.

She has since earned her IFBB Pro card and competed at events including the 2022 Arnold Amateur (where she claimed victory) and the New York Pro.
3) She’s a Certified Personal Trainer Who Coaches Clients Globally
Since moving back to New York, Empire has built a successful career as a certified personal trainer.
She’s a qualified strength and conditioning coach and reformer Pilates instructor.
You’ll be able to watch Empire in action on American Gladiators from 17 April.
