Lowrise Brewery Joins Tesco Accelerator Programme to Bring Low-Calorie Beer to the Masses
Low-calorie beer innovator, Lowrise Brewery, is among a cohort of emerging brands selected for Tesco’s annual Accelerator Programme.
Building on the success of previous intakes, 10 category challengers have been cherry-picked to introduce trend-led products to supermarket shelves.
They’ll each benefit from both physical and digital listings, alongside a year-long mentoring, learning, and development experience focused on growth.
“We’re more than a little excited about this,” said Jimmy Walsh, co-founder of Lowrise Brewery.
“The secret’s out — Lowrise Brewery is joining the Tesco Accelerator Programme!
“This is a huge milestone for our team — the opportunity to take low-calorie beer from niche to mainstream, with the support of the UK’s biggest retailer.

“We’ll be working alongside 9 brilliant brands, learning and growing together over the next year. The mentoring and backing from Tesco will be invaluable as we scale.
“And best of all — our beers will be launching in Tesco stores in just a few weeks. Watch this space.”
Lowrise Brewery first hit chillers in 2023. Launched by four friends — including beer industry veteran Todd Nicolson — the brand aims to close the gap between good beer and active living.
Its range features full-flavour and full-strength craft beer, but with 35–40% fewer calories than the average tipple.
This calorie-cutting feat is the result of an ingenious brewing process, utilising a natural enzyme to gobble up the excess sugars not consumed by the yeast.
Lowrise currently offers two refreshing varieties — Hazy Pale and Lager cans — both formulated using world-renowned New Zealand hops.
Vegan-friendly, gluten-free, 4% ABV, and as little as 84 calories per can, both beers brilliantly walk the slender tightrope between indulgence and moderation.

The Tesco Accelerator Programme’s selection criteria favour brands committed to reducing their environmental footprint and supporting a healthier way of living.
Lowrise Brewery emphatically ticks both boxes. Using sustainably sourced hops and malts — and proudly proclaiming to be the UK’s lowest-calorie beer — Lowrise was something of a shoo-in.
The brewer will be joined by the likes of Kulcher — a brand cooking up plant-based ready-to-eat meals — and popular paneer trailblazer All the Aunties.
Keep an eye out for Lowrise Brewery’s beer on the shelves of Tesco, or head to the official webstore to secure a case of bubbles without the troubles.
