Joyburst Creatine Soda Set to Signal “New Era” of Functional Fizz

Joyburst has brought more than just a splash of color to the functional drinks market since its 2021 launch.

Created by the No Sugar king himself, Brad Woodgate, the brand’s massive roster of feel-good beverages has proven refreshing in every sense of the word.

From smart-yet-straightforward formulations across energy, hydration, and protein to an unlikely collaboration with iconic American rapper Vanilla Ice, the innovator has consistently found ways to push the envelope.

Further evidence of its boundary-testing philosophy came when it launched Joyburst Clear Protein around this time last year, adding 30g of whey isolate protein to a trio of juicy cans and bucking the collagen trend in the process.

Now, the calorie-conscious operator is taking things a giant leap further with what has been described as its “biggest launch to date”: Joyburst Creatine Soda.

Here’s what we know so far about the exciting reveal.

Introducing Joyburst Creatine Soda

Woodgate says Joyburst Creatine Soda will usher in a new era for functional fizz — and we won’t have to wait long to see it play out.

The cans are set to debut in May 2026, with Fuzzy Peach Rings, Cotton Candy, and the familiar Icy Pop making up the launch flavors.

“The beverage industry said this was impossible,” Woodgate wrote on LinkedIn.

“Creatine in soda. For years, the industry said creatine wouldn’t stay soluble in water. Never mind carbonated water.

“So impossible, in fact, that Canadian health regulators don’t even recognize the pathway yet — because no one believed it was achievable.

“Until now. Joyburst solved it.

“And once our U.S. retail partners saw it, the response was immediate: ‘We need this.'”

So, what can you expect from Joyburst Creatine Soda? Each 12 fl oz can delivers 2g of creatine monohydrate, falling just short of the widely accepted gold standard daily dose of 3-5g.

Fans wanting to stay above the threshold could either double up or use Joyburst Creatine Soda as an easy, on-the-go boost, rather than their sole source.

With Joyburst boasting a solid reputation for producing great-tasting drinks, the cans will almost certainly offer a smoother alternative to traditional powders.

As we’ve come to expect from Joyburst, they’ll also be free from sugar and calories.

Regardless of the odd gram, Joyburst’s latest creation is bound to find success. Creatine is finally starting to work its way into the mainstream, fueled by a rise in more user-friendly formats.

Creatine gummies are now widespread, and over in the UK we even saw newcomer Creatime place it in a hybrid protein bar.

The deeply researched compound — famed for its benefits across power and strength — has further benefitted from a shift in perception.

Rather than being marketed solely through the lens of sports performance, brands are starting to highlight its wider utility.

Recent studies have linked creatine to enhanced cognitive performance, reduced bone loss, and even improved memory recall when sleep-deprived.

For certain demographics, such as postmenopausal women, it can also help counteract age-related declines in these areas signaled by hormonal shifts.

With creatine emerging as the next “superpower ingredient” for everyone, Woodgate believes Joyburst Creatine Soda will crack open a new beverage category and lead the way.

“This isn’t a line extension,” he continued. “This isn’t a new flavor. This is the birth of an entirely new functional beverage category.

“And now mainstream is seeing creatine as the next superpower ingredient for everyone.

“Innovation doesn’t ask for permission. It forces the industry to catch up.”
