Chris Bumstead’s BUM Energy Acquired By The German Powerhouse Behind ESN & More Nutrition

Christ Bumstead’s BUM Energy and Raw Nutrition have been acquired by the firm that brought us some of Europe’s most legendary supplement brands.

The Quality Group (TQG), a leading German-based nutrition powerhouse, confirmed it was adding the two competitors to its already impressive portfolio earlier this week.

They’ll join ESN and More Nutrition under the same roof, creating what is set to be one of the most stacked rosters the industry has ever seen.

What Does The Deal Mean for BUM Energy and Raw Nutrition?

For Chris Bumstead, the six-time Mr. Olympia champion and the face of BUM Energy Drink, this acquisition isn’t about riding off into the sunset.

In fact, CBUM, alongside Raw Nutrition co-owners Matt Jansen and Dom Iacovone, will continue to play an active role in the brands’ day-to-day operations and maintain a stake in TQG.

This means the trio will still be hands-on, making sure the brands stay true to their roots and keep that strong connection to the fitness community that helped them get to where they are.

CBUM, Dom Iacovone, and Matt Jansen: Owners of BUM Energy & Raw Nutrition

BUM Energy, which hit the market in 2023, has quickly become one of the top-rated energy drinks in the US.

Formulated with 112mg of clean caffeine and the brain-boosting nootropic, Cognizin, this partnership is set to introduce the drink to a wider European audience than ever before.

Raw Nutrition has seen explosive growth since its inception in 2019. After a steady start, sales went wild when CBUM jumped on the project in 2021, bringing with him tens of millions of followers.

In fact, the supplement brand was named the fastest-growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company in America by Inc. Magazine in 2024.

Why This Move Makes Sense

For Dom Iacovone and the team behind Raw Nutrition, joining forces with The Quality Group makes perfect sense for the next stage of their growth.

In a recent post to his 78,000 followers on Instagram, Iacovone explained that despite their initial success, taking the next leap meant finding the right partner – one with the financial resources, expertise, and experience in the supplement game.

“We needed a partner who not only had the capital to scale but also the experience of taking brands like ours to the next level,” he wrote.

“The Quality Group and CVC are that partner. What they’ve done with ESN and More Nutrition over the past few years is a masterclass in success.

“I’m excited to take all that knowledge and experience and put it into Raw. Here’s to the next decade of dominating the category with what I think is the best team in the business.”

What’s Next for Fans?

For fans of BUM Energy and Raw Nutrition, this acquisition brings exciting prospects. As the brands grow under The Quality Group, European consumers can expect even more access to the products they’ve come to love, with greater distribution and availability.

Plus, with more capital to play with, there are sure to be more product launches along the way.
