The DEKA global racing series will be landing at Skydive Dubai in March, signalling the brand’s official arrival in the Middle East.
Here’s everything you need to know about the inaugural event.
What does the DEKA FIT Skydive Dubai entail?
The DEKA FIT race is the flagship format of the DEKA series and tests athletes’ stamina, power, and mental resilience.
Those taking part in DEKA FIT Skydive Dubai will have to navigate 10 fitness zones, including sled pushes and burpees, as well as farmer’s carries, rowing, and ski erg challenges.
Between each zone, athletes will run 500 metres, covering a total of 5km over the course of the race.
As has become customary in fitness races, DEKA also has its own range of coveted swag and merchandise. Finishers will be able to don the official DEKA tee and medal.
Athlete categories and race timings
DEKA will make its Middle East debut with a DEKA FIT race on March 28 at Skydive Dubai.
Non-elite participants will be able to compete individually or in pairs in what’s known as the ‘Age Group’ category.
There will be 13 Age Group divisions for both male and female competitors, covering athletes from as young as 10 to 70+.
There will also be categories for elite male and female athletes, who will have the opportunity to vie for a cash prize.
Age Group category races will take place between 7.00-10.30AM, followed by the elite men at 11.00AM and the elite women at 11.30AM.
Entries for DEKA FIT Skydive Dubai are still open, but be quick if you’re planning on partnering up as some of the two-person team events are nearing capacity. Prices start at AED 320 and spectator tickets are free.
