The long-running Gymshark Onyx V5 saga is reaching its epic conclusion, with the fitness apparel powerhouse confirming what fans have been waiting for — its biggest drop yet.
The cult-loved compression collection sent fans into a frenzy when it made its much-anticipated comeback earlier this year.
Demand was so high that bots and resellers flooded the first release, confirming its status as Gymshark’s most sought-after line.
That debut was followed by a string of staggered follow-ups, each adding new twists and subtle variations that kept collectors on their toes.
Fronting the campaign, Onyx ambassador David Laid took to the streets of New York City for a “ditch and switch” challenge — trading competitors’ gym tops for a piece of Gymshark history.
Shortly after, the Onyx Midnight colorway was added to the storyline, with exclusive early access reserved for members of Gymshark’s loyalty program.
Each drop carried two trademarks: lightning-fast sellouts and teasers hinting at yet another chapter.
Now, with this latest reveal, it looks like Onyx V5 is heading for crescendo — and Gymshark is pulling out all the stops to make it the most talked-about release in gymwear history.
Here’s everything you need to know — from brand-new colorways to the official release date.
Debuting at the Olympia
To kick off the endgame, Gymshark gave fans an exclusive preview of Onyx at the Olympia Weekend — the ultimate celebration of bodybuilding and fitness.
Led by Olympia icon and Gymshark athlete Chris Bumstead, the brand joined forces with ESN, BUM Energy, and RAW Nutrition to create the largest booth in expo history.
Cementing its place in Olympia lore, Gymshark handed out freebies, brought the energy with live PR cages, and even gave fans tattoos of the brand’s unmistakable shark logo.

Among the chaos stood the mysterious “Onyx Vault.” Attendees who located it and scanned the QR code scored the chance to win an Onyx top ahead of launch day.
As it turned out, the vault wasn’t exactly a secret — it drew massive crowds within minutes.
Gymshark’s superhero lineup — David Laid, Carlos Belcast, Sawyer Klatt, Sam Sulek, James Beardwell, and Christian “Swole” Rickets — stood center stage beneath it, lit like the Avengers assembling for battle.
It was pure cinematic energy — the perfect match for the comic-book aesthetic Gymshark has leaned into throughout the Onyx campaign.
When Is the Onyx V5 Release?
Onyx V5 officially lands online for what could be its final release on Thursday, October 16, at 7pm BST / 8pm CEST / 2pm EDT / 11am PDT / 7pm GST.
Early access begins in select stores at 10am local time. Gymshark currently operates flagships in London, Manchester, Dubai, Amsterdam, and New York City.
Before lining up overnight, though, it’s worth waiting to see which city will receive an exclusive stock drop.
The Two New Colorways
Alongside the returning trio — Onyx Gray, Carmine Red, and the signature Brand Blue — Gymshark is introducing two new additions.
Lift Green will make its debut, joined by a fresh variation of Brand Blue to round out the collection.
All five colorways are expected to drop on October 16, cementing this as the largest and most ambitious Onyx release to date.

Interestingly, Onyx Midnight has been missing from influencer mailers and teaser images across social media.
If it doesn’t appear in this round, it could easily become the rarest piece in the entire Onyx V5 lineup.
Each color will be available in short sleeve, long sleeve, and tank versions, with pricing expected to stay consistent with previous releases.
So far, Gymshark hasn’t mentioned early access for loyalty members — meaning this might be the final open release fans have been asking for.
