Harry Can’t Sit Still Founder Harry Clough to Star on Season 20 of The Apprentice

From Fidgeting in Class to Facing Lord Sugar: Harry Clough, Founder of Harry Can’t Sit Still, Heads to The Apprentice

The clue to why Harry Clough launched his fledgling matcha brand, Harry Can’t Sit Still, is very much in the name.

Throughout his school years, the fidgety founder would frequently be kicked out of class for his ‘nightmarish’ behaviour.

University was much the same story, as he simply couldn’t get to grips with prolonged periods of focus.

It wasn’t until years later that he would discover the root cause. As a neurodivergent individual with ADHD, concentration was a currency in sparse supply.

With coffee simply not cutting it, Clough spent a year and a half experimenting with every brain-boosting ingredient he could get his hands on.

When he finally “cracked the code”, he was left with a huge list of supplements, an overly complex morning routine, and an even bigger monthly bill.

Those three familiar pain points proved the catalyst for Harry Can’t Sit Still — a Matcha Superblend enhanced with Lion’s Mane, magnesium, electrolytes, and L-theanine.

Debuted in January this year, the soluble sachets — which mix with milk or water — promise to help people with the “attention span of a goldfish” finally focus and get stuff done.

And Clough may well have needed to tap into his own supply during filming for Season 20 of The Apprentice, which airs later this month.

Having closely guarded the secret since filming last year, the budding entrepreneur has confirmed he’ll be a contestant on the most recent series of BBC One’s iconic reality show.

“Badgers, I have been waiting a long time to tell you all this,” he announced on LinkedIn.

“I am so excited to tell you that I am going to be a candidate on Season 20 of The Apprentice.

“Follow along as I start my business, Harry Can’t Sit Still, and watch me every Thursday at 9pm on BBC One (starting on the 29th of January).

“I will explain more over time, but being part of the process was the biggest privilege I have had in my life, and I feel very lucky.

“Do I have what it takes to be Lord Sugar’s next business partner and get that £250,000 investment? Time to find out.”

Clough will be joined by 19 other entrepreneurial hopefuls as they cab around London in what’s been dubbed ‘Britain’s toughest job interview’.

Supported by his steely-faced advisers, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, Lord Sugar will whittle down the candidates across 12 episodes until he’s left with his newest protégé.

Before building Harry Can’t Sit Still, Clough, from Battersea, founded Makemyday — a free food and drink subscription box service.

Various news outlets have tipped that particular venture to feature on the 20th-anniversary series, though it appears matcha is now his full-time métier.

Time will tell which business idea Clough will pitch to Lord Sugar’s trusted experts, and whether he’ll face the dreaded point of doom.

Regardless, Clough has successfully brought Harry Can’t Sit Still to life — entering a booming category with its own distinctive spin.

According to Grand View Research, the UK matcha tea market is expected to climb at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.6% from the present day through to 2033.

Indeed, similar businesses have benefited hugely from both TV exposure and celebrity buy-in.

Fellow matcha brand PerfectTed was recently dubbed the most successful deal in the history of Dragons’ Den after hitting a blockbuster £140 million valuation.

As the appetite for matcha continues to swell, there should be plenty of room for Harry Can’t Sit Still’s impressive hybrid formulation to make its own mark.

Pouches of 15, 30, or 60 sachets can be purchased direct from the brand’s website, with prices starting at £26.

It might be wise to grab them before 29 January, as interest could well surge once Clough takes to screens across the nation.
