Recapping The Larry Wheels Shoulder Press That Hit Freak Status
It seems as though every time Larry Wheels steps foot in a gym, he walks out with a new personal record.
The American muscleman takes progressive overload seriously — always climbing the dumbbell rack or sliding on another plate in pursuit of that next milestone.
We’ve seen the 30-year-old continuously crank out ridiculous lifts over the years, from setting an all-time raw bench press world record in the powerlifting circuit to casually beating it later — with a pause rep, no less.
He hit a 515lb seated barbell press back in 2018, then followed it up with a vein-popping dumbbell effort in January last year.
Recapping that lift on Instagram, Wheels gave us another look at how he moved a jaw-dropping 400lb for not one, not two, but three full reps.
The weight was so unreal, it took four massive spotters to hoist the dumbbells into position and stay close just in case.
It’s a timely reminder that even with his powerlifting days behind him, Wheels still delivers monstrous output.
These days, though, he’s training for elite aesthetics. Wheels — real name Larry Williams — recently earned his IFBB Pro Card at Muscle Contest Ireland.
His goal is to become the strongest bodybuilder in the game. And the Larry Wheels shoulder press is proof of what he’s capable of when he’s fully locked in.
Keep those eyes peeled for a Larry Wheels x Sam Sulek posedown.
