Internet star Liver King arrested and charged with making a ‘terroristic threat’
Polarising influencer Liver King has been charged with making a terroristic threat, according to reports.
Footage emerged of the social media phenomenon — real name Brian Johnson — being arrested by police in Austin, Texas, while his wife, Barbara (aka Liver Queen), looked on.
The so-called Liver King’s online presence has taken a bizarre turn recently, with the 48-year-old posting long, seemingly jumbled monologues to his 2.9 million Instagram followers.
The posts have drawn concerned comments from his fanbase, who have noticed the shift in behaviour.
In one of his most recent uploads, Johnson called out popular podcaster Joe Rogan while wearing a wolf head and clutching what appeared to be two gold-plated guns.
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out,” he said.
“My name’s Liver King. Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you. I have no training in Jiu-jitsu, you’re a black belt, you should dismantle me.
“But I’m picking a fight with you. Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”
Johnson shot to fame by posting pictures and videos of his muscular physique and caveman lifestyle, attributing his bulging frame to ancestral living and a diet of raw organs — hence the nickname.
However, he later found himself embroiled in controversy after a YouTube exposé by Derek Munro of More Plates More Dates.
Leaked emails revealed Johnson’s use of steroids and growth hormones — something he later admitted in a social media confession.
In the meantime, he had been making huge figures selling supplements to fans who bought into his offal-fuelled lie.
Johnson has since lost a sizeable chunk of followers — though he still retains a loyal fan base.
He recently starred in a hit Netflix documentary, Untold: The Liver King, offering a unique perspective on his sudden rise from zero to cultural phenomenon.
Liver King Arrested
Following his call-out of Joe Rogan, another post appeared on Liver King’s account showing his wife speaking to someone off camera.
“Take this with a grain of salt, but they assured me he’s going to be in and out… We’re talking 24 hours,” the unknown figure said, before adding that Liver King would appear before a judge.
The video then showed Johnson handcuffed in a burgundy tracksuit, standing outside a vehicle with armed officers.
Austin Police Department records show a single charge of making a terroristic threat was booked at around 1am on June 25. Further details of the incident have not yet been released.
