The new Lineage Provisions Protein Bar is one of the most unique options we’ve seen hit the category to date.
Dubbed the “protein bar for humans”, it promises clean fuel and a recipe so honest that you could make it at home in your kitchen.
Here’s what you need to know, including details on macros, price, ingredients, and where to shop.
Introducing Lineage Provisions
Lineage Provisions was founded by doctor-duo Paul Saladino and Anthony Gustin, both big backers of animal-based, ancestrally-inspired nutrition.
Their mission to transform consumers’ health through food started with grass-fed meat sticks, now available in Classic (Beef) and Ancestral (Beef + Organs) varieties.
In the three years that have passed since, the brand has introduced snacks, supplements and store-cupboard essentials, including animal-based complete protein powder, nose-to-tail collagen, and jars of organic raw honey and grass-fed beef tallow.
What doesn’t make the cut, however, is arguably just as important as what does. Across the range, Lineage Provisions never uses fillers, binders, preservatives, or artificial anything – and that has remained consistent in its debut protein bar.
Unpacking the Lineage Provisions Protein Bar
The Lineage Provisions Protein Bar lands in two flavours – Chocolate and Mixed Berry – both boasting a 100% real food recipe.
Typically, that spells a combination of nuts and seeds, packing around 10g of protein per bar. But the no-nonsense operator has taken things in a completely different direction here.
The protein system is built around grass-fed whey and collagen, returning a total of 20g of the muscle-building macronutrient per 50g serving while providing benefits across recovery and general body maintenance.
Sticking with the meat-heavy theme, the fat – which floats between 4-5g, depending on the flavour – comes from grass-fed beef tallow.

In place of sugar alcohols, gums, or fibre syrups that “wreck your stomach”, Lineage Provisions has opted for raw honey and organic coconut nectar, with cocoa and organic wild berries used to deliver an authentic finish.
Both flavours come in comfortably under the 200 calorie mark, rounding out a snack that promises easy digestion, a unique, smooth texture and high protein bioavailability.
While launching the much-requested product, Saladino even took a cheeky swipe at fellow protein bar maker David, saying their version is actually something Michelangelo’s famous representation of David would have eaten.
