From ingredients to taste and performance, this Vidrate review covers everything you need to know before trying the sachets
Hydration has evolved from an afterthought to a mainstay of the daily wellness conversation – one that’s becoming impossible to ignore.
Once limited to a few hurried glugs of water after feeling parched, it’s now right up there with protein, steps and sleep in perceived importance.
As a result, electrolytes and functional drinks are everywhere you turn. In supermarkets, many are stealing fridge space from the sugary monopolies that have sat largely unchallenged for years.
Even the definition of hydration has shifted. It’s no longer just about quenching thirst or appeasing a dry mouth. Now more than ever, it sits at the centre of how we feel and perform throughout the day.
That’s not to say the science has changed. Rather, people are becoming more aware of how transformative maintaining an optimal fluid balance can be for energy, focus, immunity and beyond.
As someone who’s always placed a high value on hydration, it’s refreshing to see the category finally boom.
And one brand that’s been leading the charge is Vidrate.
Offering a wide array of electrolyte sachets boosted with functional extras, the better-for-you operator has caught my eye with its impressive formulations.
It appears I’m not the only one, either. Vidrate has secured listings in high-street heavyweights such as Boots and Holland & Barrett, placing it front and centre up and down the nation.
So, I decided it was time to put the sachets to the test and find out just how good they really are. Without further ado, here’s my full Vidrate review.
Introducing Vidrate
There’s a very wholesome feel to Vidrate. Founders Nick Hird and Rob Bennett-Baggs launched the brand some years back to fulfil the need for healthy daily hydration, free from sugar, artificial sweeteners and additives.
Each one of their many drinks is made with all-natural ingredients, suitable for vegans and clocks in at just 7 calories per serving.
Indeed, that gentle mantra extends to the packaging. Putting hydration and sustainability on an even keel, Vidrate’s sachets feature a tiny 0.4g of plastic, with plans to reduce that slim figure even further in the near future.
As for the range, there’s a sachet for just about every occasion. Always using a strong dose of electrolytes as the fulcrum, the eclectic roster boasts targeted blends for sleep, immunity, energy and everyday wellness, all brimming with their own unique additions.
My Honest Vidrate Review
To provide the most comprehensive overview possible, I’m going to break this Vidrate review down into a few manageable swigs:
- Formulation
- Taste
- Mixability & Performance
- Value for Money
Let’s get started.
Formulation
As I alluded to before, there’s a really strong duality to just about every one of Vidrate’s many drinks. I picked up a mixed box containing sachets of Boost, Night, Immunity and Everyday.
The electrolyte content stays consistent at roughly 200mg per serving, split between chloride, potassium and sodium.
It’s not as electrolyte-heavy as some sports-specific blends, but that’s not what Vidrate is trying to be. These rip-and-mix sticks are designed for everyday hydration, with scope to enjoy more than one throughout mornings, afternoons and evenings.
And that’s something you’ll want to do, thanks to the supporting cast of ingredients.

The Everyday sachets feature vitamins C and B12, while Immunity ramps things up with vitamins A, C, D, B12 and zinc, all working together to help keep you guarded against office coughs and colds.
Meanwhile, two levels of Boost provide 30mg and 90mg of caffeine respectively, plus vitamins B5 and B6.
When it’s time to unwind and hydrate before bed, Night adds magnesium, L-theanine and lemon balm extract for a soothing sip.
As a hydration drink, Vidrate is impressive in its own right. But when you consider the numerous sachets’ wider utility as a multivitamin, smart coffee replacement and sleep aid, it takes things to a whole new level.
Taste
Formulation aside, taste is arguably the most important factor in this Vidrate review. Flavoured electrolyte drinks have a tendency to be slightly cloying.
I have a sweet tooth, but I still like there to be a discernible flavour other than just, well, sweet.
So I was more than pleasantly surprised when I took my first sip of Vidrate’s Cherry Immunity blend.
And as I worked my way through the box, the pleasant surprises just kept on coming. In fact, I would go as far as saying Vidrate’s electrolytes taste the best of any I have tried to date.
The flavours actually match what’s written on the packet. Not sickly imitations that strike a vague resemblance – genuinely refreshing, fruity drinks that I’d reach for even if they didn’t contain vitamins or minerals.
The natural flavourings really do shine through, and the stevia used for added sweetness doesn’t overpower in the same way some artificial sweeteners might.
I won’t walk you through the tasting notes on every sachet, but I will say this: Cherry and Lemon, Lime & Mint are particularly special.
Mixability & Performance
Keeping things simple, I mixed each sachet in a standard glass – water in first, powder in second, followed by a quick stir with a spoon. Within a few seconds everything had dissolved cleanly.
There was no grittiness while drinking and, importantly, no stubborn residue sitting at the bottom of the glass once I’d finished.
For a stick-format electrolyte with added functional ingredients, that’s an impressive result and one that makes it an easy option whether you’re in the kitchen, pouring Boost into a shaker before the gym, or enjoying Vidrate al desko.
As for the performance, I was once again mightily impressed. I genuinely felt more hydrated and energised after adding these into my daily routine, helped by the great flavour encouraging me to reach for sachets throughout the day.
Boost, in particular, served as a handy pre-workout ritual, delivering caffeine and hydration in one streamlined hit.
A special mention goes out to Night, which acts as a clever counterweight.
Value for Money
No Vidrate review would be complete without mentioning value for money. In other words, are you getting decent bang for your buck?
In my humble opinion, the answer to that question is a resounding yes. There are several options on Vidrate’s website, including a customisable Build a Box and pre-set bundles.
Prices start at 36p per sachet if you stock up and subscribe, or 72p as a one-time purchase.
Either way, that represents strong value – especially considering all the added extras. For now, Vidrate tops the list as my favourite electrolyte blend.
Any challengers have a big task on their hands to knock it off its perch. If you want to try Vidrate for yourself, head on over to the brand’s online store.
