Myprotein has added some serious mass to its athlete roster with the signing of Samson Dauda.
The 2024 Mr. Olympia winner has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him proudly fly the flag for the sports nutrition heavyweight on bodybuilding’s grandest stage.
“Proud to officially announce my partnership with the world’s largest supplement brand,” he wrote to his 1.6 million Instagram followers.
Myprotein’s reveal video showed a lion morphing into Dauda, in what was a clever nod to the muscleman’s nickname.
Dauda is affectionately known to fans as the “Nigerian Lion”, a moniker reflecting his heritage and powerful frame.
“We are pleased to announce 2024 Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda as our newest Myprotein Athlete,” the brand shared.
“Samson is another addition to a growing roster of bodybuilding athletes who will be representing the brand on the world stage, as well as in Brand activations with Myprotein.
“After Top 3 finishes in the IFBB Pro League, Samson is set to take to the stage at 2026 Olympia, with his eyes on 1st place.
“A formidable character with an outstanding physique focussing on mass and balance, Samson is certainly at the top of his game and we cannot wait to see what is it come.”
Who is Samson Dauda?
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Samson Dauda moved to the UK via France in his teens, where he first put his strength to use playing rugby.
However, after being introduced to bodybuilding, he never looked back. Dauda has been competing on stage since 2014 and earned his IFBB Pro card in 2017 after winning the IFBB Amateur Diamond Cup in Rome.
Undoubtedly the biggest moment of Dauda’s career came in 2024, when he out-posed reigning Mr. Olympia champion Derek Lunsford to claim the sport’s most coveted title.
That win secured him an incredible $600,000 (£460k) prize pot — the joint highest in Mr. Olympia history.
Dauda was one of four former champions to challenge in the 2025 Men’s Open line-up. The pool was arguably as deep as it had ever been, and that showed with several surprise placings.
Dauda slipped to fourth in the final standings, while Derek Lunsford completed bodybuilding’s trifecta by reclaiming his title.
Nevertheless, in Samson Dauda, Myprotein has signed an athlete operating at the very top of the sport. He will be firmly in the mix for this year’s Olympia and brings millions of fresh eyes to the brand.
