“Hunger Isn’t the End of the World”: yfood Enters the Pop Culture Arena With Fallout-Themed Shakes
The worlds of health, fitness, and popular culture are colliding more than ever, with imaginative collaborations becoming an increasingly common way for brands to tap into mainstream fandom.
In the apparel space, Gymshark leaned heavily into the DC multiverse for its most recent ONYX collection, while YoungLA fittingly opted for Superman-inspired aesthetics across its rival compression line.
Several major supplement makers have followed similar themes. Myprotein, for example, has wrapped various products in Marvel skins, including its staple Clear and Impact Whey Protein blends.
Striding into the fantasy middle ground where fitness and fiction mingle, German-founded meal replacement shake brand yfood has dropped six limited-edition bottles to tie in with the finale of Fallout Season 2.
In what’s being billed as a European first, Fallout has stepped off the screen and into supermarkets, with Tesco and Sainsbury’s dedicating eye-catching end-of-aisle fixtures to the creative launch.
yfood has drafted in six of its most beloved ‘This Is Food’ flavours for the activation: Classic Choco, Smooth Vanilla, Fresh Berry, Happy Banana, Heavenly Hazelnut, and Cold Brew Coffee.
Each one represents a character from the critically acclaimed video game-turned-hit Prime Video series.

Steph, CX404 (otherwise known as Dogmeat), The Ghoul, and main protagonist Lucy MacLean are among the familiar faces selected to spearhead the crossover.
In terms of what’s inside the bottles, nothing changes. Each one still delivers the nutritional equivalent of a full meal, with 36g of carbs, 30g of protein, 24g of fat, 8.4g of fibre, and 500 calories.
That balanced panel is supported by 26 vitamins and minerals and “wholesome” ingredients, in a formula free from added sugar, lactose, and gluten.
Fallout Season 2 racked up 794 million viewing minutes in its first week. The show is set in future, post-apocalyptic versions of Los Angeles and Nevada brought about by nuclear decimation.
Citizens are forced to live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits.
Episode 8 — the hotly anticipated Season 2 finale — premiered on Wednesday, 4 February.
yfood’s Fallout-inspired shakes are retailing at £3.50 in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, or £3 for shoppers with Clubcard or Nectar accounts.
